Steven Lome, founder of SaveUp

SaveUp was created by 4Site LLC, a Chicago-based company that helps turn financial information into financial action by encouraging better spending, saving, and investment decisions at the moment of purchase.

SaveUp founder, Steven Lome, is an author, entrepreneur, and small-business mentor. Earlier in his career, he was a residential real estate developer. When the housing market collapsed, an expected $1 million gain became a $1 million loss—forcing him to rebuild and rethink his own relationship with money.

As part of that reinvention, Steven began helping entrepreneurs build stronger, more sustainable businesses. He also co-authored The $500 Cup of Coffee: A Lifestyle Approach to Financial Independence, helping young people make better financial and life decisions.

The book provides the information and inspiration to save. SaveUp provides a way to put it into practice—turning everyday shopping into an opportunity to save, invest, and build wealth over time.

The $500 Cup of Coffee roadmap: open accounts, pay yourself first, set goals, build a budget, spend on what matters, reduce debt, track progress, fund retirement, protect what you build, and be consistent.

Steven Lome and David Kramer published The $500 Cup of Coffee: A Lifestyle Approach to Financial Independence in 2017. While it was originally written for millennials, its principles of planning, spending, saving, and investing remain just as relevant to young adults today.

The questions haven’t changed much either:

  • How do you enjoy life today while planning for the future?
  • When should you spend—and when should you save?
  • How do you start investing when you don’t know much about it?
  • How should you think about the value of a college education?
  • Is buying a home a good idea?

The $500 Cup of Coffee offers a practical roadmap to financial independence without asking you to give up the things you enjoy. It helps readers build the knowledge and confidence to take control of their money—and create the life they want.
