SaveUp Privacy Policy
1. INTRODUCTION
4Site LLC (“SaveUp,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the SaveUp website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
By accessing or using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Services.
2. SAVEUP GAME AND SAVEUP LIVE
SaveUp is offered in two phases, and this Privacy Policy is written to cover both.
SaveUp Game (Currently Available)
SaveUp Game is a financial-education and engagement platform that uses simulated virtual currency to help users practice spending, saving, and investing decisions. SaveUp Game does not transfer, store, manage, or invest real money, and does not create bank accounts, brokerage accounts, or payment accounts.
SaveUp Live (Future Feature — Not Yet Available)
SaveUp Live will allow users to connect real financial accounts and transfer actual funds to savings and investment accounts through regulated third-party financial partners. SaveUp does not, and will not, take custody of user funds. Regulated financial partners — not SaveUp — handle account opening, custody, transfers, and compliance.
Sections and provisions of this Policy that apply only once SaveUp Live becomes available are labeled “SaveUp Live — Future” and are not currently in effect. When SaveUp Live launches, we will activate those provisions, provide any additional disclosures required at that time, and notify users as described in Section 17 (Changes to This Policy). The overall structure of this Policy is designed to remain the same.
3. WHO MAY USE SAVEUP
SaveUp Game is available to individuals age 13 and older. Users between the ages of 13 and 17 may use SaveUp Game only with the involvement of a parent, guardian, or a sponsoring school, nonprofit, employer, or financial-wellness organization.
Users under age 13 (“Minor Users”) may access SaveUp Game only through an Authorized Sponsor — such as a school, nonprofit organization, or employer-sponsored program — that has entered into a written Authorized Sponsor Agreement with SaveUp. SaveUp does not accept direct registrations from users under 13. See Section 7 (Children’s Privacy) for details.
SaveUp Live — Future: SaveUp Live will be restricted to users age 18 and older who complete any required identity verification and account-setup processes.
4. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Information You Provide
- Name and username
- Email address
- Password (stored in encrypted form)
- Profile information you choose to provide
- Communications you send to us
Early Access Registration
When you sign up for SaveUp early access through our website, we collect your first name, optional last name, and email address to register your interest and administer the early-access list. HubSpot processes and stores this information on behalf of 4Site LLC. If you separately consent to marketing communications, we may email you SaveUp launch announcements, early-access invitations, and other updates. Marketing consent is optional, and you may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
Educational and Platform Activity
We collect information about the goals and challenges you create or join, reward participation and milestone completions, educational content interactions, Virtual Closet activity, and feature-usage and engagement data. Items placed in the Virtual Closet are stored only as reminders to support your decision-making — SaveUp does not reserve merchandise with retailers or place items in a retailer’s shopping cart on your behalf.
Device and Technical Information
- IP address
- Browser type, device type, and operating system
- Application version and device identifiers
- Push-notification tokens (if enabled)
- Diagnostic, crash, and performance data
Payment Information (In-App Purchases)
If you purchase optional virtual currency within SaveUp Game, that transaction is processed directly by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. SaveUp does not collect or store payment card information. Virtual currency has no cash value, cannot be withdrawn or transferred, and does not represent real money or a financial account.
Social Media Login Data
If you choose to register or log in using a third-party social media account, we receive certain profile information from that provider (such as your name, email address, and profile picture) as permitted by your settings with that provider. We use this information only as described in this Policy.
Financial Information — SaveUp Live (Future)
Once SaveUp Live features are activated for a user, we may receive account-identifying and account-verification information from financial account-linking providers, transaction and transfer instructions you initiate, and account status information from financial partners. SaveUp does not collect or store online banking passwords; linking providers handle credential authentication directly. Additional disclosures will be provided before these features become available.
5. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use the information described above to:
- Operate, maintain, and provide the Services
- Create and manage user accounts
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries
- Improve features, content, and user experience
- Administer rewards, challenges, promotions, and sweepstakes
- Deliver and personalize educational content
- Evaluate engagement and platform effectiveness
- Protect against fraud, misuse, and unauthorized access
- Comply with applicable law
- Support SaveUp Live features once they become available
6. LEGAL BASES FOR PROCESSING (INTERNATIONAL USERS)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Canada, we process your personal information on one or more of the following legal bases, as applicable: your consent (which you may withdraw at any time), performance of our agreement with you, compliance with a legal obligation, or our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Services, provided those interests are not overridden by your data protection rights and interests.
7. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY — MINOR USERS AND AUTHORIZED SPONSORS
The Authorized Sponsor Model
SaveUp does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through open registration. Minor Users may access SaveUp Game only through an Authorized Sponsor — such as a school, nonprofit organization, employer-sponsored program, or financial-wellness organization — that has entered into a written Authorized Sponsor Agreement with SaveUp. Under this model:
- The Authorized Sponsor acts as the consent authority for Minor Users and represents that it has obtained all required parental or guardian consents under applicable law, including the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), prior to enrolling any Minor User.
- SaveUp collects only the information necessary to provide the Services to Minor Users within the Authorized Sponsor’s program.
- SaveUp does not use Minor User information for behavioral advertising, marketing profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the educational Services provided through the Authorized Sponsor’s program.
- SaveUp does not share Minor User personal information with third parties except as necessary to operate the Services, comply with legal obligations, or as directed by the Authorized Sponsor under its agreement with SaveUp.
Information Collected from Minor Users
For Minor Users accessing SaveUp through an Authorized Sponsor, we may collect a username or display name (which may or may not be a real name, at the Sponsor’s discretion), participation and engagement data (challenge completion, goal activity, educational progress), and technical and device information necessary to operate the Services. We do not collect email addresses, full names, or contact information directly from Minor Users unless the Authorized Sponsor provides this information as part of enrollment and has obtained appropriate consent to do so.
Parental Rights
Parents or guardians of Minor Users have the right to review the personal information SaveUp has collected about their child, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of their child’s information, and withdraw consent and request that SaveUp discontinue collection of their child’s information. Because Minor Users access SaveUp through Authorized Sponsors, parents or guardians should direct initial requests to the Authorized Sponsor; they may also contact SaveUp directly at info@saveup.me. We will respond to verified parental requests within a reasonable time.
SaveUp Live features are not available to Minor Users under any circumstances.
8. EDUCATIONAL ANALYTICS
SaveUp’s mission is to improve financial awareness and decision-making. We may analyze participation, engagement, goal-setting activity, challenge completion, savings behavior, and other usage patterns to improve educational effectiveness, user experience, and platform performance. Such analysis may be conducted using aggregated or anonymized information whenever practical.
For Minor Users, educational analytics are used solely to improve the Services and to provide participation reporting to Authorized Sponsors. Minor User data is not used for commercial profiling or behavioral advertising.
9. AI AND PERSONALIZED CONTENT
SaveUp may use algorithms, behavioral models, automated systems, and artificial intelligence technologies to personalize reminders, educational content, challenges, recommendations, and savings suggestions. These tools are intended for educational and informational purposes only and do not constitute financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. AI and personalization features for Minor Users are limited to educational content and challenge recommendations within the Authorized Sponsor’s program.
10. REWARDS, PROMOTIONS, AND AFFILIATE PROGRAMS
SaveUp may offer rewards programs, sweepstakes, contests, incentive programs, and affiliate shopping opportunities. To administer these programs, we may track participation, referrals, merchant clicks, qualifying purchases, and reward eligibility. SaveUp may receive affiliate commissions or referral compensation from participating merchants. Sweepstakes and prize promotions are open only to users who meet the age and eligibility requirements set out in the Official Rules for that promotion, which are published separately.
11. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION
Service Providers
We may share information with companies that help us operate SaveUp, including hosting providers, analytics providers, authentication providers, customer-support providers, and other technology vendors. These providers are contractually required to protect your information and may use it only to provide services on our behalf.
Authorized Sponsors
If SaveUp is provided to you through an Authorized Sponsor, we may share limited participation information with that Sponsor, such as account activation status, challenge participation and milestone completion, and program engagement metrics, as specified in the Authorized Sponsor Agreement. Authorized Sponsors do not receive user passwords or financial account credentials, and for Minor Users receive only the information specified in their agreement with SaveUp.
Business Partners and Offer Walls
Our application may display a third-party “offer wall” through which advertisers offer virtual currency or other items in exchange for completing an advertisement offer. Clicking an offer takes you to an external website not operated by SaveUp; a unique identifier (such as your user ID) is shared with the offer-wall provider to prevent fraud and credit your account. Offer-wall providers operate independently under their own privacy practices. Participation in offer-wall activity, challenges, and reward-point activity is always voluntary and never requires a purchase.
Financial Service Providers — SaveUp Live (Future)
Once SaveUp Live features become available, we may share information with account-linking providers, banks, broker-dealers, custodians, payment processors, identity-verification providers, and regulatory compliance providers as necessary to facilitate financial activities you request.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information when required by law or legal process, or when necessary to protect rights and safety, investigate fraud, enforce our agreements, or respond to government requests.
Business Transfers
If SaveUp is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify users of any such change through the Services or by email.
We Do Not Sell Personal Information
SaveUp does not sell personal information to third parties. To the extent applicable law treats sharing personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as a “sale,” SaveUp does not engage in that practice. See Section 16 for your rights under state privacy law.
12. THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES AND ADVERTISING
The Services may link to third-party websites, online services, or applications, and may display advertisements from third parties not affiliated with SaveUp. We do not make any guarantee regarding these third parties and are not liable for any loss or damage caused by your use of third-party websites or services. A link does not imply our endorsement, and any data you provide to a third party is governed by that party’s own privacy practices, not this Policy. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.
13. COOKIES, TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES, AND DO-NOT-TRACK
We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies (such as pixels and web beacons) to maintain platform functionality, remember preferences, measure usage, improve performance, and support affiliate and rewards programs. You may control certain cookie settings through your browser or device settings; disabling cookies may affect platform functionality.
We may use analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to evaluate feature engagement, improve platform stability, and enhance educational decision-support features. Where applicable, you can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and out of interest-based advertising generally at http://optout.networkadvertising.org/.
Most web browsers include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) signal. Because no uniform industry standard for recognizing DNT signals currently exists, we do not respond to DNT signals at this time. If a legal or industry standard is adopted, we will update this Policy accordingly.
14. DATA SECURITY
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, SaveUp will notify affected users and applicable regulatory authorities as required by law.
15. DATA RETENTION
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain accounts, satisfy legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. In general:
- Active account data is retained for as long as your account remains open.
- Following account closure, account data is retained for up to three (3) years, unless a longer period is required by law.
- Minor User data is retained only for the duration of the Authorized Sponsor’s active agreement with SaveUp, after which it is deleted or anonymized unless a legal obligation requires longer retention.
When information is no longer needed, we will delete, anonymize, or securely archive it, as appropriate.
16. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
General Rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, request deletion of your information, withdraw consent where applicable, and opt out of certain marketing communications. Submit requests to info@saveup.me with the subject line “California Privacy Request.” We will respond within 45 days of a verified request, with one 45-day extension where reasonably necessary. SaveUp will honor applicable rights requests in accordance with the laws of your state of residence. You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, subject to identity and authority verification. Contact us at info@saveup.me to submit a request or appeal.
EEA, UK, Switzerland, and Canada
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, or Canada, you may have the right to request access to and a copy of your personal information, rectification or erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to certain processing. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Contact us using the information in Section 18 to make a request.
17. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including when SaveUp Live features become available. The revised version becomes effective when posted on the SaveUp website or application, and the “Last Updated” date above will be changed accordingly. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes through the App or by email. Your continued use of SaveUp after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
